This is a brand new page that I am creating without using any template.
I use the Custom HTML Block for “bookmarks” within my articles. This allows my readers to skip to and from footnotes. After creating a superscript footnote link like this,[1] I use the Custom HTML Block to add the return bookmark between this paragraph and the preceding one … as I will do now.
As soon as I hit the Update button in the Custom HTML Block, I can no longer see it in the Visual Editor. I know it’s there, because it works in the View Page option that appears every time I do a Save. In the code editor, the appear as they always have.
I’ve been using this approach for several years and nothing changed until a few weeks ago. Before creating this example, I checked a post from 2024 when I could see the HTML Custom Blocks while in the Visual Editor. I can’t see them now.
I’m hoping that I just accidentally changed my settings and can change them back, If not, I’ll live with it. It’s a nuisance, but it’s not crippling.
Thanks for your help,
Terry
This is the footnote preceded by a Custom HTML Block that contains an HTML “name” code (<a name=”ENDNOTE_001″></a>) matching the location specified in the [1] link above. Clicking here will return the reader to the paragraph containing the [1].
